Stories to Tell in the Middle of the Night was originally commissioned in 2016 by Birmingham Repertory Theatre and was produced by Pippa Frith.

It previewed nationally at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Oxford Playhouse Burton Taylor Studio as part of Offbeat Festival, The Old Red Lion Theatre, London and Holbeck Underground Ballroom, Leeds. It went onto a 2 week run at Summerhall in August 2016 as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, before touring nationally throughout the rest of 2016 and 2017, including the Sir Barry Jackson Trust tour in partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre to a range of community venues in the midlands region.

Arts Award Voice

From the showcase nature of Edinburgh Festival to community centres, heckles and walkouts... Stories to Tell in the Middle of the Night changed and developed as a performance. Its life as a touring show has ended for now, but the the idea of Stories to Tell in the Middle of the Night has evolved with more stories finding new homes and new audiences in the podcast and BSL videos.
